Question: A man hangs his hat and walks 500 yards with his eyes closed. He then turns around and shoots his hat with his pistol with his eyes still shut.

How did he do this?

Answer: He hung his hat on the barrel of his gun before he started walking.

The man could also have hung his hat on a hook, walked away 250 yards, turned around, walked back, felt for cap, shot it and still only have walked 500 yards
